SULEYMAN DEMIREL UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS Introduction And History
Suleyman Demirel University Practice and Research Hospital started to render polyclinic service in June 15, 1994. Annexed from Isparta State Hospital, the new building used as the clinic opened in October 31, 1994 upon the rapid completion of the restoration.
The emergency polyclinic and the pharmacy have been serving since the year 1996.
The rooms for the academic staff placed in the polyclinic building in 1998 have been moved partly into the health college and partly in the faculty of medicine deanery building. Following these steps, in the very same year, equipments such as mammography and tomography were bought and opened for public service. The introduction of new hospital with 400 bed capacity was opened in November 1, 2000 and then, it started to function with its all units. In April 1, 2002 MR and osteo densimeter devices were bought and put into service.
Şevket Demirel Cardiology Department started to serve as the annex of our hospital along with two cardiovascular operation rooms, angiography, electro-cardiograph, EFOR EKG, holter departments in November 28, 1999.
Zehra Ulusoy Early Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Center opened in September 23, 2002 is an important unit with its 40 bed patient capacity along with its modern devices.
